PAN is a Permanent Account Number consists of a 10-digit character alphanumeric number allotted to PAN Card holder served in the form of Government-issued identification. It makes the identification easier of income taxpayer or PAN Cardholder. PAN Card is required if your salary is under the taxable slab, or you were getting a taxable professional fee, for opening a bank account or for sale or purchase of assets.

What to do to know your PAN using PAN number?
Visit the official website of Income Tax E-Filing at https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/
Click on “Know Your PAN” under section “Quick Links” displayed on the left side of the screen.
Post that, enter all the details including name, date of birth, and mobile number.
You will get an OTP on your registered mobile number that is linked with PAN.
Enter the OTP and click on “Validate” to process further.
Now enter your father’s name and click on the “Submit” button.
Know about your PAN by name and date of birth!
On the e-Filing website, click on “Know Your PAN”.
Enter your Date of Birth or Date of incorporation in DD/MM/YYYY format
Enter your surname first, then enter your middle name and first name.
Enter the Captcha Code as shown on the screen.
Click on submit.
You will Receive the Following Details:
PAN Card number
First Name
Middle Name
Surname
Jurisdiction
Remarks stating with the card is active, inactive, or in any other status.

Select your user type as applicable and click on “Continue”.
Provide your basic details.
Fill up the Registration Form and click on “Submit”.
An activation link will be sent to the email address provided by you. Click on this link to activate your account.
Log in to your account on the e-Filing website.
Select “Profile Settings”
Select “My Account”.
